Harvard Resource Solutions is hiring a 2nd Shift Panel Wirer to provide support for a client in Tecumseh, MI


PAY RATE: $30.00-$33.00 Per Hour Depending on Experience


Hours for 2nd Shift Panel Wirer: 2:30 pm to 1:00 am


Working Arrangement: In Office

Position: Full time/direct hire

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Panel Wirer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for wiring, assembling, and troubleshooting electrical systems in various machine tools according to specified blueprints and technical instructions. This role requires a strong electrical aptitude, precision, and the ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment.

Primary Responsibilities (may include but not limited to)


  • Interpret Wiring Diagrams: Read, comprehend, and accurately interpret wiring diagrams to support job functions.
  • Support Company Objectives: Understand and uphold company philosophies, goals, and directions, including adherence to ISO 9001 and 14001 policies and procedures.
  • Timely Labor Reporting: Accurately report labor hours promptly and in compliance with company guidelines.
  • Material Handling: Safely apply material handling processes and follow safety protocols.
  • Quality Work Standards: Produce high-quality work within the expected time frames as set by team and group leads.
  • Set Department Standards: Lead by example in maintaining high standards of housekeeping, attendance, and teamwork within the department or area.
  • Tool Proficiency: Demonstrate working knowledge of standard hand tools and specialized tooling as required.
  • Customer Interaction: Interact professionally with customers both within the plant and on-site in the field.
  • Team Communication: Maintain effective communication with leads and team members to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Line Wiring Operations: Perform all line wiring tasks with precision and efficiency.
  • Work Autonomously: Work effectively with minimal supervision, managing tasks independently.
  • Missing Parts System: Understand and utilize the missing parts system to address and resolve shortages or discrepancies.
  • Training and Communication: Communicate effectively and provide training to employees and customers as needed.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues with electrical designs and parts, taking appropriate corrective actions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend improvements for the work area, products, and processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Prototype Work: Perform prototype work with limited engineering input and minimal supervision.
  • Field Installations: Perform and/or oversee machine installations in the field, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
  • Design Analysis: Analyze electrical designs for accuracy, functionality, and cost-effectiveness, making adjustments where necessary.
  • Panel Work: Perform component changes, build panels, and wire multiple product lines as required.
  • Safety Training and Compliance:
  • Complete safety training on overhead crane usage and adhere to all safety requirements.
  • Complete fall protection training and follow protocols where applicable.
  • Complete Lockout/Tagout training and use all required items during lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Work Safely: Consistently work safely and adhere to environmental responsibility guidelines.
  • 5S Standards: Maintain compliance with 5S standards in the work area to promote organization and efficiency.
  • Error Communication: Report any discrepancies or errors on prints, material lists, or other documentation promptly.
  • Shift Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with teams across second and third shifts to achieve productivity and quality goals.

Required Education/Skills/Experience

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school: or 3 to 5 years of related experience or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience as a machine tool electrician or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical skills and a thorough understanding of electrical components and wiring technique
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to quality and safety.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 3 to 5 years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrate personal leadership; actively participate in or lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress / emergency situations, priority changes, or new assignments.
