Financial Services client is seeking a Contract Specialist for a 16+ month contract in Irvine (hybrid)

The Senior Contract Specialist provides support to the Strategic Sourcing department, which provides services to the Global Business Services business areas (Office Services, HR, Finance, Communications, and others ) within the company on an enterprise level. The department collaborates closely with internal customers and colleagues to understand business requirements for goods and services and to fulfill those needs; this primarily includes information technology and professional services . The Senior Contract Specialist will focus on the administration, management, and negotiation of complex and/or high dollar acquisitions .
-Partners with the business to determine objectives of negotiation (e.g., additional services, optimal value, favorable contract terms, etc.).
-Develops, scopes, constructs, issues, and coordinates requests for Information, Quotation, and Proposal , based on the business requirements.
-Develops negotiation strategies and leads negotiations of complex contract provisions.
-Partners closely with the business and other subject matter advisors to ensure that the best interests of the company are represented in negotiations.
-Evaluates and manages RFX vendor responses and provides analysis and recommendations to the business area.
-Coordinates with Legal, Insurance, and Risk departments to develop complex Statements of Work (SOW) or contracts for sourcing engagements or projects.
-Ensures the terms and conditions in the contract meet the business requirements; helps Business Partners understand contractual implications.
-Responsibilities may also include working with the business areas in developing overall vendor strategy including spend analysis, vendor and product/service research, benchmarking, vendor viability and risk mitigation.
-Ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues (e.g. IT, Legal, Risk, etc .) and Suppliers to deliver consistently excellent results and value for stakeholders.
-Ability to manage ambiguity and change while working in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment.
-Ability to manage individual project timelines and drive completion of projects under limited supervision.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills to all audience levels, including the ability to effectively conduct complex project/program meetings and influence others.
-Requires a minimum of 5-6 years of advanced contracting/sourcing experience with mastery of strategic and tactical procurement principles, practices, and models.
-Bachelors degree required
-Experience in other disciplines is highly preferred but not required (e.g., Finance, Sales, Operations, etc.).
