Position Description:
OUR RESIDENT FUNDS BANKER POSITION
The primary focus of the Resident Funds Banker is to:
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of Title 10 of the COMAR regulations as it relates to resident funds, while executing all transactions and communications accordingly and in a timely manner.
- Serve as a fiduciary of resident funds and ensure that unauthorized individuals are denied access to these accounts.
- Write checks, process withdraws and execute deposits for all activities related to the resident fund accounts.
- Coordinate with residents, their families, and/or other responsible parties to obtain appropriate documentation prior to processing any reimbursements/payments.
- Review Medicaid Notices of Eligibility (NOE) to ensure that individual resources are timely received and remitted to the company. Ensure that all differences are timely identified and resolved.
- Coordinate with the Medicaid Resident Resource Accountant monthly to ensure all balances due from resident funds to the nursing home have been paid in accordance with the NOE and any credit balances are resolved timely and refunded to the resident funds account.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual Unclaimed Property Report filed with the state of Maryland.
- Support state of Maryland surveys and other internal audits by timely and completely responding to all questions and inquiries.
- Furnish quarterly bank statements to the residents and/or their responsible parties within one week of receipt of the bank statements.
- Complete all account opening, change of status, and closure paperwork within required time frames.
- Notify resident or their responsible party, and Manager, Financial Reports, when an account balance is $200 below the current Medicaid asset limit. Coordinate and monitor spend-down plan with resident or their responsible party to ensure the resident fund balance remains below the current Medicaid asset limit eligibility.
- Update, on a weekly basis, the Power of Attorney roster and Competency Roster for all current residents
- Provide the highest level of customer service.
- Other duties as assigned.
SHIFTS & STATUS
This is a FULL TIME Hourly position with a M-F schedule, on-site.
EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Associate degree in Accounting and 2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; including Word and Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet established deadlines.
- Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties.
- Maintains confidentiality.
