Job Description

Our client is a leading provider of mental health services dedicated to improving the well-being of individuals in the community. They are seeking a part-time Psychiatrist/Medical Director to join their team and play a key leadership role.


The Part-Time Psychiatrist/Medical Director will provide clinical oversight, psychiatric evaluation, and treatment to individuals receiving care through Office of Mental Health (OMH) programs. This role combines direct clinical care with administrative responsibilities to ensure high-quality, evidence-based mental health services are delivered.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications as appropriate.
  • Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services as needed.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Offer consultation to clinical staff regarding client care.
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight of OMH programs.
  • Ensure compliance with OMH regulations, policies, and best practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and policy development.
  • Supervise and mentor clinical staff, including therapists, nurses, and case managers.
  • Oversee the integration of medical and psychiatric care within the program.
  • Review and approve clinical documentation as needed.
  • Attend leadership and team meetings to discuss program performance and goals.
  • Assist with program audits and inspections conducted by OMH.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OMH, and other applicable regulatory standards.


Requirements:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist with a current, unrestricted medical license in NY.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working in mental health settings, with prior leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OMH regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and populations.


Please note- The annual base salary range is $150k to $200k. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
