Role

Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the Corporate Counsel will provide a wide array of legal and contract management services. This role offers competitive pay and career progression within a high-growth, mission-driven company.

Responsibilities

• Provide transactional support, including reviewing, redlining, drafting, negotiating, formatting, and managing obligations for a wide variety of agreement types.
• Handle litigation matters, respond to customer demands, and generally support the business.
• Provide labor and employment guidance and dispute resolution.
• Consult with and advise business leaders in all areas.
• Review, advise, negotiate, and draft contractual agreements.
• Provide support on marketing and public relations matters.
• Assist on corporate governance and Board of Director matters.
• Provide support on internal and external audit matters.
• Keep informed of industry-specific regulations and ensure that appropriate risk management strategies are in place.
• Advise the company on and manage outside counsel for ongoing business and legal issues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial legal experience in an in-house legal department or with a law firm.
• General experience in litigation, labor and employment, and commercial contracts.
• Client service focused with an excellent track record in previous client support/customer service engagements.
• Legal practice focused on commercial transaction support.
• Experience in highly regulated industries and consumer regulated laws is a plus.
• Experience with consumer finance litigation and regulatory enforcement is a plus.
• Experience in IT contracts is a plus.
