Functional Genomics and Sequencing Scientist Needed-Must Have CRISPR experience
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of functional genomics assays, including CRISPR screening, bulk RNA-seq, and single-cell RNA-seq on tissues, cells, or nuclei suspensions
- Operate and maintain advanced lab equipment (e.g., NovaSeq X+); troubleshoot and solve scientific and technical challenges independently and efficiently
- Maintain laboratory supplies and ensure equipment readiness for routine and walk-up use
- Collaborate with TA scientists to design experiments and interpret data, contributing to decision-making in cross-functional teams
- Author protocols, procedures, and technical reports with minimal supervision
- Provide training on functional genomics assays and sequencing technologies to TA scientists
- Participate in FGSL workflows, including meetings, to ensure transparency and alignment with organizational goals
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company policies, ensuring accurate record-keeping and data integrity
Requirements
- In-depth understanding of next-generation sequencing (NGS) and functional genomics, with demonstrated expertise in molecular biology methods.
- Proven experience in developing and optimizing in vitro cell-based assays, PCR-based assays, or similar workflows.
- Proficiency in cell culture and familiarity with single-cell techniques and CRISPR assays.
- Ability to independently operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Experience with laboratory automation and software programming is a plus.
- Strong ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment, with excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to train and mentor colleagues.
Education:
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution with 3+ years of experience in molecular biology, cell biology, or a related scientific discipline.
Pay Rate: $45-53/hr * Based on experience
