Position Overview
Cisco is seeking a Logistics Support Specialist to ensure seamless material handling and inventory management for an advanced portfolio of semiconductor and optics products. This role demands a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and quality in logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving
- Handle the receipt of raw materials and the shipment of finished and in-process products globally.
- Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or documentation; report shortages and reject damaged items.
Inventory Management
- Conduct inventory cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Organize and manage the distribution and shipping of raw materials.
- Maintain and update internal record-keeping systems.
Assembly & Distribution
- Build product subassemblies or final assemblies systematically.
- Develop and distribute production schedules and work orders.
Systems Usage
- Utilize ERP systems and other software for daily operations.
- Operate shipping software (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL) to meet logistics needs.
Who You’ll Work With
You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including:
- Internal Teams: Inventory, Receiving, Manufacturing personnel, technicians, and process owners.
- Company Experts: Engineers, supply chain professionals, and management teams.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Electronic certification (preferred).
Experience:
- 4+ years of experience in Inventory, Shipping, Receiving, or related fields.
- Hands-on experience with order fulfillment, shipping software (e.g., FedEx, UPS), and Microsoft Excel.
Skills & Attributes:
- Proficiency in computer systems (e.g., Word, Excel).
- Knowledge of inventory transactions (e.g., receiving, transfers, quarantines).
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and strong critical thinking skills.
Desired Skills
- Experience with SAP and Oracle systems.
- Proficiency in cycle counting and physical inventory (PI).
