Telecomm Operator/Dispatch - Telecommunications - PRN at Haywood Regional Medical Center summary:
The Telecomm Operator/Dispatcher is responsible for directing telephone inquiries and maintaining confidentiality for patient information. This role includes making announcements, monitoring emergency alarms, and operating various communication equipment. Candidates should have critical thinking skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision.
Directs all telephone inquiries to the appropriate area or person while maintaining strict confidentiality for all patient information.
Makes all announcements, such as drills and/or disasters, paging of authorized personnel and relaying of messages.
Monitors emergency alarms and notifies responsible parties when required.
Operates a variety of communication equipment to include radio consoles, telephones and computer systems.
Minimum Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Work Experience
One year of experience in telecommunication systems and general office practices preferred.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
