Administrative Assistant – Landscape Operations
Description
The primary responsibility of the position is to assist the Design Department and the Scheduling Department with daily or weekly tasks and to ensure that our customers are having a positive interaction with our company, whether they are interacting with us over the phone, online or in person. Extensive plant knowledge is NOT required but a love of people and plants is a must! We are seeking positive and friendly applicants with a helpful attitude toward customers, including the ability to speak clearly and convey information accurately.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as liaison between customers and the landscape design & installation department.
- Manage calendars and appointment scheduling for 2 landscape designers.
- Help schedule projects, remain in contact during projects, and follow up with customers after installation is complete.
- Use an online portal to process utility locate requests (J.U.L.I.E.) for upcoming installation projects.
- Communicate with customers on timing for installations and deliveries each day.
- Customer follow-ups – answer basic questions, direct customers to proper departments, customer satisfaction, etc.
- Maintain organization in the office and help keep departments working together smoothly.
Job Requirements:
- Friendly person with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in basic Windows applications, Google Drive and willingness to learn online scheduling programs
- It is important to keep in mind that this position requires the individual to be a “switch hitter”. The garden center business is a seasonal business and as such there may be times when we need the individual to fill another role. The ideal candidate would be not only capable, but also willing to fill the voids when necessary.

Expected Work Schedule:
- Mid-February thru Early December
- 20-30 hours per week (overtime available but not required)
- 2-5 days / week (occasional Saturdays in the spring are helpful but not a requirement)
