This role will be responsible for providing fundamental human capital life cycle support to the Human Capital & Talent (HC&T) department and their assigned office(s) or function(s), while serving as a point of contact for all human resources questions, including but not limited to Paid Time Off (PTO), timekeeping system application, benefits eligibility, leave eligibility, accommodation requests, and recruiting. This role will be located in our Washington, D.C. location. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.Responsibilities & QualificationsOther key responsibilities include:Facilitating connection with appropriate functional departments and providing updates to their HR team members as neededLeveraging their knowledge of the firm’s human resources policies to answer most questions independently; using appropriate judgment to collaborate and escalate complex questions and issues as appropriate; following up to ensure issues are resolved in a timely mannerSupporting Peoplesoft reporting and timekeeping activities, including working with the Human Resources Operations team to adjust entries in Kronos, following up with managers and supervisors to ensure all timecards are approved, using Kronos and PeopleSoft to generate reports, answering routine questions about timekeeping and the timekeeping system, and ensuring FLSA standards are metCoordinating new hire orientation and working with the hiring manager(s) and the global HC&T community to develop an agenda, schedule presenters, and support programs to facilitate new employee integration during the first year of employment to meet the firm’s objectives for new hire retentionSupporting employee life cycle processes (e.g., transfers, promotions, departures) and coordinating changes with the appropriate departmentsProtecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retainsWe’d love to hear from you if you:Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of human resources functionsDisplay well-developed and professional interpersonal skillsPossess the ability to cultivate relationships across teams and all organizational levels of the firmAnd have:A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalentA focus in a related field, preferablyA minimum of four (4) years of HR experience may be considered in lieu of a degreeA minimum of one (1) year of relevant experienceBenefits & Additional InformationSuccessful candidates will not only be provided with an outstanding career opportunity and welcoming environment, but will also be provided with a generous total compensation package with bonuses awarded in recognition of both individual and firm performance.
