We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Content Manager to be the next addition to our growing team by helping to plan and execute on any customer-facing content and messages, whether it be paid media campaigns, social media or video content, or even sales & marketing assisting documents.
Job Description:
Brennan seeks a Content Manager to join our team. In this role, you will ensure that Brennan produces high-quality content for homeowners and contractors navigating window and door projects (both replacement and material supply). The ideal candidate has exceptional copywriting and copyediting skills across various formats, including long-form content, digital media, email campaigns, newsletters, case studies, landing pages, video scripts, and social media assets. You are a strong communicator, highly organized, and adaptable in a fast-moving environment. As Content Manager, you will report to the Marketing Director and collaborate with our in-house videographer, subject matter experts, and external partners to maintain content quality, accuracy, and relevance. This role requires a mix of creativity, strategic thinking, and flexibility, as shifting priorities are common in our small but agile team.
Responsibilities:
Content Strategy & Execution
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop, produce, and publish high-quality content that drives traffic and generates qualified leads.
- Establish and maintain a documented content production process to improve efficiency and ensure quality across internally and externally produced content.
- Develop and maintain a quarterly content calendar, focusing on content creation and distribution.
- Identify opportunities to fill content gaps and optimize existing content to improve search rankings, traffic, and lead generation.
Content Creation & Editing
- Craft concepts, write, edit, proofread, and finalize content for owned and paid channels, ensuring alignment with brand voice and audience needs.
- Create original content backed by SEO research, industry insights, and expert interviews.
- Oversee content input into the CMS (Umbraco, WordPress, or HubSpot), ensuring proper functionality, formatting, links, media, and imagery.
- Manage the workflow for freelance writers, providing guidance and feedback to improve article direction and focus.
SEO & Performance Optimization
- Conduct SEO research to inform content strategy and drive organic traffic growth.
- Report on content performance using tools such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, Google Search Console, and PostHog.
- Optimize on-page SEO, including metadata, keyword placement, and internal linking strategies.
Collaboration & Communication
- Coordinate with guest post contributors and content partners to expand Brennan’s content reach.
- Engage with inbound inquiries related to content and editorial topics .
Requirements:
The Content Manager is an experienced content producer, editor, and strategist who thrives in a team-oriented environment. This role requires:
- 3+ years of experience in content management, journalism, or digital media, with a track record of delivering high-quality content.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills, with an ability to craft compelling, conversion-driven content.
- Ability to adapt tone and voice to resonate with different buyer personas.
- Strong understanding of SEO best practices and on-page optimization techniques.
- Experience using SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ubersuggest, Ahrefs, AlsoAsked.com).
- Experience with CMS platforms (Umbraco, WordPress, or HubSpot).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong conceptual skills, with an intuitive understanding of how copy integrates with design and photography.
- Experience working with freelancers, including editing and providing direction.
Desired But Not Required:
- Familiarity with CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Experience with project management tools (Monday.com, ClickUp, Airtable).
- Familiarity with communication tools (Slack, Microsoft Teams).
