Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver exceptional patient care in clinic and virtual settings, ensuring a seamless and supportive experience throughout the surgical journey.
Conduct pre- and post-surgical calls to prepare patients for procedures and provide support during recovery.
Address patient concerns, answer questions, and provide clear instructions for surgical preparation, follow-up care, and rehabilitation protocols.
Act as a central point of contact for patients, coordinating care across multiple locations and optimizing patient schedules and surgical site assignments.
Collaborate with physicians, surgical teams, MAs, schedulers, authorization staff, and internal RN partners to ensure efficient and effective care delivery.
Manage surgeon EHR inboxes, address perioperative inquiries, and coordinate care with insurance providers.
Educate patients on pre- and post-operative expectations and rehabilitation protocols to enhance satisfaction and outcomes.
Contribute to creating and maintaining streamlined pathways for patient care while fostering a positive and efficient team environment.
Adhere to the scope of practice for a Registered Professional Nurse as outlined by Michigan regulatory guidelines and maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and organizational policies.
Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications
Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, including 1-3 years in surgical nursing, pre/post-operative care, or a related field.
Proven experience in surgical patient care, with a focus on orthopedics or joint surgery highly desirable.
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
