- A large system in Nebraska/Iowa are looking for Night ICU RN's. 13 Weeks, Every other Weekend/Holiday. Open Heart Trained.
Job Requirements
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Department: ICU RN.
- # of Beds: 33 beds, average daily census is 16.
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 for adults, 1:2-4 for Peds.
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults and Pediatrics, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress.
- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes.
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Any cardiac drip, insulin, sedation.
Schedule Information
- Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1830, 1830-0630.
- Self scheduling for core staff, travelers added in. Unable to guarantee block scheduling.
- Weekend Requirements: Every other.
- Holiday Requirements: Rotating based on weekend group.
- Floating Requirements: Typically to PCU, possibly to MedSurg.
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 3 shifts.

- Health Support Tech M-F 0800-1630.
- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.)
- RNs required to read and interpret.
- No blocked scheduling or same schedule/shifts, must be flexible and willing to float and work when needed.
