Summary Responsible for assisting customers with registration, daily admission, inquiries, monitoring activities, and serving food at the Holmes Aquatic Center.
Duties - Provide exceptional customer service to all external and internal customers.
- Respond to and resolve customer issues and requests
- Perform clerical duties including but not limited to point-of-sale transactions, membership sales, and facility bookings.
- Reconcile daily deposits.
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of concession and guest service areas.
- Perform opening and closing procedures.
- Assist in food preparation.
- Serve food items to guests.
- Follow established City of University Park policies and procedures
- Attend all staff meetings and trainings
- Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance
Qualifications If hired by the Parks & Recreation Department as a seasonal employee, I understand that I must adhere to and will be required to participate in the following:
- Attend mandatory drug testing
- Attend mandatory orientation
- Attend all paid pre-season training sessions
- Attend all mandatory paid in-service trainings as scheduled
- Be at work on time for every scheduled shift
- Report to work and remain free from being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol
- Wear staff uniform only while on duty
- Work weekdays, weekends, holidays, opening and closing shifts, and Holmes Aquatic Center special events.
- Be willing to substitute for others.
- Be willing to work together for the better of the team.
- Maintain a clean work environment in and around the facility.
- Be available for a minimum of 70 work days during the season.
Knowledge & Skills - Must be at least 16 years of age
- ServSafe Food Handler Certification
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer within 3 months of employment
- Preference prior experience operating a cash register
- Preference prior experience in customer service and food handling
Supplemental Information Working Conditions Work is performed indoors and outdoors and involves direct contact with the general public. The work schedule of a Guest Services employee will include opening and closing shifts during weekdays and weekends. Holiday work is required. Work may involve being around harmful chemicals.

In accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, this position is not eligible for overtime for hours worked over 40 in a designated work week.
Schedule The City of University Park is currently accepting applications for Aquatic Positions. All positions require the ability to work flexible schedules up to 40 hours per week, and the availability to work Sunday through Saturday, 6:30 a.m. through 9:00 p.m., including holidays and special events. Must pass a criminal background check and drug test.
