DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Human Resource Assistant 2, you will be focusing on auditing, monitoring, overseeing, and recommending appropriate actions to timekeepers and the time and attendance program at SCI Somerset and SCI Laurel Highlands. This position requires a thorough knowledge of collective bargaining agreements, memorandums of understanding, various side letters, pay schedules, management directives relating to time and attendance, personnel rules, Executive Board Amendments, and rules and regulations for both standard and combined leave programs. Work includes providing guidance to timekeepers on proper procedures to pay accurate overtime, charging for proper absences, and entering substitutions as they impact the work schedule. Effective communication is essential as you will be handling employee inquiries and training new timekeepers. Additional responsibilities include:
- Conducting post audit reviews of timekeeper entries
- Researching and entering transactions
- Analyzing error reports in SAP
- Investigating attendance and absence issues
- Monitoring TWOC (temporary working out of classification) assignments
- Conducting orientation for new employees
- Issuing photo ID cards to staff, contractors, and volunteers

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week, upon successful completion of a 6-month probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Somerset.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Human Resource Assistant 1 (Commonwealth title); or
- One year of clerical or other comparable experience and one year of beginning level paraprofessional human resource or equal opportunity work; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
