Job Title: Project Manager I or PM II

Job Location: 1910 East Innovation Park Drive, Tucson, AZ 85755


Job Summary

The Project Manager - RTD is responsible for managing project information and activities to support decision-making by project teams, Life Cycle Teams (LCTs), and the Life Cycle Committee (LCC). The role involves coordinating cross-functional timelines and budgets, identifying risks and bottlenecks, and driving solutions to keep projects on track. The Project Manager ensures transparency, consistency, and efficiency across all processes and fosters continuous improvement in team operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project information to support decision-making by project teams, LCTs, and the LCC.
  • Coordinate timelines and budgets for all projects and functions within an LCT.
  • Oversee the execution of cross-functional plans and track progress.
  • Identify gaps, potential delays, and bottlenecks; challenge assumptions and propose corrective actions.
  • Conduct risk assessments and create scenario analyses, including critical path analysis.
  • Act as the single point of control for project data, ensuring version management and release of changes.
  • Compile and communicate project reports to stakeholders.
  • Define, measure, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to enable continuous improvement.
  • Guide team processes to ensure consistency, transparency, and optimization.
  • Implement best practices for project management and foster knowledge exchange among teams.
  • Manage preparation for project milestone reviews.
  • Organize and manage meetings, including setting agendas and documenting minutes.


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Engineering, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience (Required).
  • Master’s Degree in Life Sciences is preferred.
  • Project management training and/or certification is highly desirable.


Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management and/or product development (Required).
  • Experience in research and development, ideally within the diagnostics or pharmaceutical industries (Preferred).


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong problem-solving and project coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and MPM.
  • Familiarity with standard project management processes (PMI) and diagnostic design control processes (Preferred).
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and meeting facilitation abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects under high-pressure circumstances and ambitious milestones.


Licenses and Certifications

  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) is preferred.


Travel Requirements

  • Travel based on business needs.
