  • PCU RN position in Council Bluffs, Iowa
  • Stepdown RN department
  • Fast paced unit with many admits and discharges
  • Common diagnoses include heart failure, Afib, respiratory distress, and stroke
  • Nurse to patient ratio is 1:04
  • RNs required to titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitro
  • RNs must read and interpret telemetry strips
    Job Requirements
  • Must pass a skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
  • Must have relevant state licensure
  • ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications required
    Schedule Information
  • Shifts: 0630-1900 and 1830-0700
  • Cyclic scheduling
  • Weekend requirements: Every third weekend
  • Holiday requirements: 1 major and 1 minor holiday
  • Floating to ICU if appropriate and experienced
    Unit Specific Information
  • Attributes for success include positive attitude, teamwork, and patient-oriented care
    Additional Details
  • Prescreen and auto offer process
  • 1-12 hour shift of unit/department specific orientation
  • RTO needed upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
