About the Role - We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer physically based in our Marietta, OH office with a strong focus on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) to drive innovation in our product development process.

Responsibilities -



  • Design for Manufacturability: Develop mechanical designs that optimize manufacturability while maintaining quality, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Production Teams: Partner with manufacturing and production teams to address design challenges, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions that improve efficiency.
  • Process Integration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of designs into production workflows, considering fabrication, assembly, and testing.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Create prototypes and conduct testing to validate designs, making adjustments based on performance and manufacturability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement in design and production, driving initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Documentation: Generate and maintain accurate technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation to support manufacturing and quality assurance.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure parts and materials meet design and production requirements.
  • Compliance: Ensure designs adhere to applicable industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Travel: Up to 25% travel is required.


Qualifications -



  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on manufacturability preferred. Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus.


Required Skills -



  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Understanding of fabrication methods (e.g., machining, sheet metal, welding, injection molding).
  • Familiarity with GD&T and technical drawing standards.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address design and production challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Teamwork: Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.


Preferred Skills -



  • Experience in designing mechanical systems for capital equipment or similar industries.
  • Knowledge of material selection for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems for engineering and production integration.
  • Experience with tolerance analysis and ensuring fit, form, and function in assemblies.
