Career Transitions is currently seeking a senior level Product Development Engineer to work with a growing and innovative durable consumer good manufacturer servicing the greater automotive market. This role will design solutions for products and set up specifications to meet business goals.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Product development: Working closely with designers, test, manufacturing, and quality engineering team members to provide support.
- Product specifications: Establishing product specifications to meet organizational goals.
- Test programs: Developing test programs, hardware, DVP&R
- Data analysis: Analyzing statistical data for new and sustaining products.
- Product release documentation: Generating and managing product release documentation.
- Cost reduction: Driving cost reduction activities.
- Product issues: Working on resolutions to product issues using data analysis.
- Train, and mentor other Engineers and supporting staff.
- Ensure APQP compliance during engineering development activities, as well as interface deliverables.
- Utilize and coordinate robust product designs practices within Engineering.
- Interface with customers to obtain technical requirements and engineering specifications (QFD and related activities).
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 7 years of product engineering experience with experience in FEA and CFD tools. Experience with DFMEA’s and DVP&R’s. Must be proficient with Solidworks software and have some experience with LEAN principles ( 5s, kaizen, value stream mapping, demand flow, etc. Background in plastics, fiberglass manufacturing and automotive, OEM experience preferred.
