Job Description The Lead Data Scientist leverages Zurn Elkay’s analytics infrastructure and diverse data assets to provide actionable insights across sales, marketing, pricing, manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, and finance. Provides technical and leadership skills to build and grow the data science capability within the broader analytics and data team.Key Accountabilities Establish partnerships with key business functions to identify and prioritize potential opportunity areas, to form hypotheses, and to drive strategic insight generation.Continue to grow and build the data science capability within the overall data and analytics organization by defining processes, discovering and implementing tools and techniques, providing training and change management, and building trust through successful execution.Execute insight generation projects utilizing relevant and appropriate data science techniques within key functions and strategy areas, especially in the areas of manufacturing, logistics, marketing, sales, and pricing.Provide consultation to business areas on key insights generated and on the development of action plans.Demonstrate and communicate the measurable business value of actions taken from the generated insight. Provide ROI based justifications.Establish analytics or a data science center of excellence that promotes collaboration and learning across business partners.Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor degree required, in a quantitative field such as engineering, mathematics, science, and/or MIS. Master degree preferred.7+ years of overall work experience.5+ years of experience in data science and statistical analysis.Strong understanding and experience with analytics tools such as Tableau and OBIEE/OAC (or similar tools) for reporting and visualization, Snowflake for data storage, data modeling, data prep or ETL tools, R or Python, SQL, and data catalogs.Strong understanding and experience with multiple statistical and quantitative models and techniques such as (but not limited to) those used for predictive analytics, machine learning, AI, linear models and optimization, clustering, and decision tree.Deep experience applying data science to solve problems in at least one of the following areas is required.
