Job Description

The Pediatrician will primarily focus on evaluating children for Autism Spectrum Disorder using a variety of diagnostic tools and methodologies. This role is essential in delivering timely assessments and recommendations, supporting families through the diagnostic process, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care.Job Duties/Responsibilities:+ Conduct comprehensive evaluations of children suspected of having Autism Spectrum Disorder. Analyze and interpret data, and write evaluation reports+ Utilize standardized diagnostic tools and assessment techniques to determine the presence of ASD.+ Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and educators to gather relevant developmental history and behavioral observations.+ Provide clear and compassionate communication of evaluation results and recommendations to families.+ Develop individualized care plans and coordinate referrals to appropriate services and therapies.+ Stay current with the latest research and best practices in ASD diagnosis and treatment.+ Educate families and the community about Autism Spectrum Disorder and available resources.+ Follow all state and federal regulatory guidelines+ Other duties as assigned+ Be goal-oriented and maintain professionalism in all aspects of your work+ Follow the policies and procedures of Ascend Autism GroupQualifications:+ Candidate may work as part-time or full time employee+ Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution+ Board certification in Pediatrics+ Licensed Medical Doctor+ Proven experience in evaluating children for Autism Spectrum Disorder+ Experience (or willingness to receive training in order to) administering various standardized diagnostic tools (e.g. ADOS-2, CARS, Vineland)+ Must hold applicable state licensure+ Experience with Microsoft Office+ Knowledge of DSM-5+ Commitment to ongoing professional development and education in pediatric care and ASD+ Excellent report writing skills+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills+ Excellent administrative skillsPhysical Requirements:+ Prolonged periods of standing and sitting.+ Must be able to lift to 45 pounds at a time.+ Must be able to sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with clientsNote: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
