About the job Doctor of Physical Therapy
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our team and play a vital role in improving patients mobility and overall health. In this position, youll assess patient conditions, design tailored treatment plans, and guide patients through their rehabilitation journey. Your expertise will help individuals regain strength, mobility, and confidence while working alongside a team of healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
Thorough Assessments: Evaluate patients physical health by reviewing medical history, conducting diagnostic tests, and performing hands-on assessments to gain a comprehensive understanding of their condition.
Customized Treatment Plans: Develop and implement personalized rehabilitation strategies focused on restoring mobility, increasing strength, and achieving tangible improvements.
Hands-On Treatment: Utilize your full range of therapy techniques including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation to optimize recovery.
Monitor and Adjust: Regularly track patient progress and modify treatments as needed to ensure continuous improvement and effective outcomes.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive, well-rounded care for every patient.
Patient Education: Empower patients and their families with the knowledge and tools to continue their recovery at home. Educate them on exercises, injury prevention, and ongoing self-care strategies.
Documentation: Keep detailed, accurate records of patient progress, treatments, and modifications to support quality care and keep the team aligned.
Lead by Example: If overseeing assistants or aides, provide guidance and ensure that all team members are delivering care that meets high standards and aligns with treatment goals.
Qualifications:
Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution.
Licensure: Successful completion of the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) and active state licensure to practice in Michigan.
Experience: Solid foundation in physical therapy with a deep understanding of therapeutic techniques and effective patient management.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and patient care abilities. Capable of developing individualized rehabilitation plans that make a real difference in patient outcomes.
Strength: Able to lift 40+ lbs and engage in hands-on care as needed.
Knowledge: Familiar with state regulations, industry standards, and best practices in physical therapy.
Background Checks: Required for patient safety and care integrity.
