The job of HVAC was established for the purpose/s of maintaining heating/air conditioning systems; identifying repair and/or
replacement needs; providing necessary information on the proper uses of the equipment; ensuring adequate materials are
available to complete assignments in a timely manner; and directing assigned workers as necessary.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or its equivalent required. Three (3) to five (5) years' of commercial HVAC experience required. Michigan Mechanical Contractor License preferred. Community College and/or Vocational School degree with study in a HVAC program desired. Must be able to meet physical demands of the working environment.
Essential Functions:
•Coordinates with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.
•Diagnoses problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning / refrigeration systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and replacement needs.
•Directs personnel as assigned for the purpose of maximizing the efficiency of the work force and meeting shift requirements.
•Estimates materials and/or equipment needed to compete work projects for the purpose of ensuring timely completion of projects.
•Installs heating/air conditioning/refrigeration equipment and systems for the purpose of providing comfort inside facilities.
•Interprets schematic drawings or blueprints for the purpose of assisting in the layout and completion of work assignments.
•Maintains regular attendance and punctuality for the purpose of ensuring efficient delivery of services to the District.
•Maintains tools and/or equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe operating condition.
•Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information.
•Repairs various items, systems and/or components for the purpose of ensuring that items are available and in safe working
condition.
•Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items.
•Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
•Transports various items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
•Assists other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
