Machinist (1st Shift)
In need of a trained professional who operates a wide variety of machine tools and also has skills to create set-ups on grinders, lathes, and other complex machinery. Looking for someone who is strong, precise, knows how to read plans, and pays close attention to details.
Description:
- Capable of running Bridgeport Milling Machines, Surface grinders, Drill Presses and Lathes.
- Capable of machining to tight tolerance.
- Handling of optical comparator
- Capable of reading blueprints/drawings and machining too.
- Troubleshooting equipment issues
- Make fixtures and tooling as needed to complete jobs
- Complete alignment and quality checks using basic measuring devices
- Recommend design improvements and process changes with limited supervision
- Maintain daily tool room machine and equipment cleanliness along with appropriate preventative maintenance standards
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers and bore gages to accurately perform measurements on finished parts, verifying compliance to drawing requirements
- Performs secondary operations in support of the machine shop, including but not limited to cutting and preparing raw material and washing parts as needed
- Responsible for operating machining tools to produce precision metal and plastic parts that meet precise specification, by setting up and operating of a wide variety of machines
- Confers with engineers, production supervisors, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems

Education/Experience:
