Job Description Summary: Perform a variety of technical duties involved in conducting standardized tests, experiments and determinations in support of research oriented activities.
Job Description: Job Duties Outlined: - Perform histological process such as fixation, decalcification of hard tissues, processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining.
- Participate in other laboratory experiments such as cell culture, Western blotting, animal procedures, tissue collection and processing, genotyping, and other assigned tasks.
- Participate in manuscript preparation for publication under supervision, and
- Assist PI with laboratory management.

Required Qualifications Education : Associate degree in histology, biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline or combination of education and relevant experience may substitute for degree on a year-for-year basis.
Work Experience : Experience or knowledge in clinical or basic science research
Preferred Qualifications: Education : Bachelor's degree
Work Experience : At least one-year laboratory research experience in histological techniques.

- Histological processes, laboratory experiments, laboratory management, and manuscript preparation
- Microsoft, Word, Excel and data management

Compensation Statement: The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
