Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking a Spanish Teaching Fellow for the 2025-2026 school year at a boarding school in the Madison, VA area .

Strong candidates will have an undergraduate degree in Spanish or a related area and an interest in a teaching career in World Language. Candidates should also have an interest in living on campus and working in the school’s residential life program. Housing costs are typically covered by the school.

Spanish Teaching Fellow Responsibilities:

• Developing lesson plans and curricula based on the needs of individual students.
• Providing conversational classes where pronunciation and important words and phrases are taught.
• Teaching Spanish writing and composition classes..
• Conducting research on teaching methods, materials, and language games that can be used in class.
• Scheduling and preparing students for oral and written examinations.
• Teaching students about Spanish culture, which may include festivals, traditional food, and dress, and social conventions.
• Organizing fun events where students can showcase their Spanish language skills.
• Serve as an advisor for students and have the availability to work occasional “House Duty” shifts in student residential halls.

Spanish Teaching Fellow Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Spanish language, literature, or an equivalent may be required.
• Proven written and verbal proficiency in Spanish.
• No teaching license or credential is required.
• Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
• A desire to be involved in extra-curricular activities as well as the broader school community.
• Commitment to residential life, which can include dorm duty, coaching obligations, and advising boarding students.
