Job Description

Fresh Films' Accelerated Filmmaking Program will engage young adults from Boston as they create a series of filmmaking projects. We're looking for filmmakers or technically-inclined educators in the Boston area who can engage, guide, and mentor the future filmmakers as they learn the ins and outs of filmmaking.

This position is perfect for a freelance professional, current teacher, graduate student, or a filmmaker who is looking to give back to youth in the community.

Note: Filmmaking Instructors will be expected to follow the rules and restrictions set forth by our program partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Well-rounded generalists with experience working in the film, television, or media-production industries
  • Of note, we welcome folks who have a specific area of expertise as long as they are also comfortable teaching filmmaking in general (basic camera, lights, and audio operation + basic video editing principles)
  • People who are well-versed in the traditional filmmaking process (Concept Development, Pre-Production, Production, Post-Production, and Marketing)
  • Must genuinely enjoy working with young-adult students in an educational environment
  • Must pass a background check in order to work directly with students

Dates: Starts IMMEDIATELY on Tuesday 2/4/2025, and continues Tuesdays & Thursdays through May 20, 2025

Time: 4 - 6:30pm ET

  • The program will run for 2.5 hours/day on Tuesdays & Thursdays, along with 2-4 hours/week spent reviewing student work, prepping for the next program session, and answering student questions as needed

Hour Commitment: No more than 6-8 hours/week

Location: Madison Park Development Corporation

Compensation: $35 - $45 /hour

Fresh Films will develop all program curriculum and provide all materials needed for the program. The role of the instructor will be to teach and facilitate the curriculum, as well as to work directly with students to complete their filmmaking projects.

Please submit both a resume and cover letter to apply.
