AMG & Associates, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Buyer/Procurement Specialist to support our procurement efforts. In this role, you will assist in the procurement of services, supplies, and equipment to support our business operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement processes in the construction industry, and excellent analytical and organizational skills.

The candidate will need to have a basic understanding of construction materials and methods and the ability to read and review project plans and specifications to determine subcontractor scopes of work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review project plans and specifications
• Clearly identify subcontractor scopes of work
• Negotiate subcontractor scope and pricing
• Review and analyze purchase requisitions to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Process purchase orders and requests for quotes
• Maintain accurate records and reports to track procurement activities
• Assist in buy-out meetings and obtain quotes in a timely manner
• Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure alignment of procurement efforts with project needs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
• 2+ years of relevant experience in procurement preferably in the construction industry
• The candidate shall have strong communications skills and possess the ability to negotiate subcontractor scopes of work and pricing.
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build effective relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Proven experience in purchasing or supply chain roles is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient working with Sage 300 CRE, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Procore, Nitro Pro
