Location:

This position is based in our R&D lab in Mesquite, TX and requires daily office attendance.


Position Summary:

Canadian Solar seeks an Electrical Lab Technician to be part of the development, testing, and repair of a residential energy storage system (inverter + battery + transfer switch). Successful candidates will have strong experience in development, and manufacturing of electronics and mechatronics systems, testing and development. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems. Candidates will test unique loads/setups/inputs on the current and new generation of the energy storage system, perform failure analysis on failed units, and repair returned/RMA’d units.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience PCBA testing and electrical diagnostics
  • Experience with PCBA rework including fine, hand soldering of electronic components, following schematics, PCBA staking/conformal coat application
  • Experience managing external partners for PCB manufacturing
  • Experience with common electronics test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, etc.)
  • Experience with PCBA inspection and failure analysis
  • Experience with residential inverters, batteries, transfer switches, and PV power
  • Experience maintaining an electronics lab and sourcing lab supplies/components


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in related field or IPC certification
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven track record of delivering results on time
  • Experience in development of renewable energy systems
  • Experience working in electrical hardware development & testing
