Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to join our client's team in Houston. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in project controls, with a strong focus on Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, claims management, and risk management.This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent analytical and communication skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.


Preferred candidates will have worked/do work predominantly on residential/commercial projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed CPM schedules for various projects, ensuring all project milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Analyze project schedules to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Manage claims processes, including the preparation, submission, and negotiation of claims.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management plans to minimize project risks.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Prepare and present detailed project control reports to senior management.
  • Implement and maintain project control systems and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project controls, with a focus on CPM scheduling, claims management, and risk management.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and other relevant tools.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-SP, or similar are preferred.
  • Experience utilising estimating tools.
