Job Title: Safety Specialist

Overview:

Our top client in Indianapolis is hiring a Safety Specialist to lead the development and management of health and safety protocols. You will ensure staff are well-informed about emergency preparedness, the use of protective equipment, and accident procedures. An ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of safety policies and OSHA regulations, while efficiently identifying workplace health hazards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement workplace safety policies adhering to OSHA standards.
• Conduct training sessions on safety protocols and proper equipment usage.
• Review and update safety policies regularly.
• Monitor daily operations to improve safety practices.
• Perform safety audits and site inspections to identify hazards.
• Conduct risk assessments to reduce workplace accidents and health issues.
• Prepare and present monthly/annual safety reports to management.
• Coordinate with Aurora, IL facility to maintain consistent safety practices.
• Assist management in planning safety budgets.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a safety role.
• OSHA Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Detail-oriented with strong hazard identification skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety documentation software.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Eager to learn and adapt to evolving safety regulations.
