Our client is seeking a Configuration Management Data Analyst that will be responsible for configuring and maintaining all CMDB processes, work instructions, and activities. You will maintain precise documentation and accurate usage of the CMDB. You will be responsible for assisting in defining and registering configuration items (CIs) and the appropriate level of attributes and relationships required to support IT processes. You must possess excellent critical thinking skills.
Key Accountabilities:
- Implements system audit practices and conducts audits to ensure data integrity.
- Reconciles the CMDB data when exceptions are noted between CMDB, discovery information, and other authoritative production data repositories.
- Supports design, development, and implementation of automated processes for gathering, populating, and maintaining CMDB data.
- Develops SQL queries and reports for management on KPIs to improve the process effectiveness, efficiency, and data accuracy.
- Works closely with systems engineering to establish business requirements for the CMDB.
- Helps mature robust configuration management procedures and standards for using CMDB.
- Acts as a key stakeholder supporting key CMDB tasks.
- Communicates CMDB activities to enhance general awareness of processes and standards.
- Liaises and trains internal partners whenever necessary.
Required Skills:
- At least 3 years of related experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 3 years of experience managing CMDB and IT Asset Management projects and programs.
- Experience in asset and configuration item identification, baseline definition, relationship mapping, and CMDB administration.
- Strong communication and analytical skills required.
- Must have strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with multiple business systems and have a general understanding of system design.
