Overview

A renowned defense litigation firm with a multi-state presence is seeking a visionary Chief Operating Officer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and strategic growth across the firm's five offices in the Southeast, headquartered in Orlando, Florida. This executive position requires a minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience within a law firm.


Responsibilities


Oversee all non-legal aspects of firm operations: This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Oversee finance and accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Manage all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, training and development, compensation and benefits, and employee relations.
  • Oversee IT infrastructure, systems, and security, ensuring optimal technology solutions to support firm operations.
  • Manage all aspects of firm facilities, including office space, maintenance, and equipment.
  • Develop and implement marketing and business development strategies to enhance the firm's brand and attract new clients.
  • Oversee all administrative functions, including records management, legal research support, and office services.


  • Collaborate with the Managing Shareholder and other key stakeholders to develop and execute strategic plans for firm growth and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, streamline workflows, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Masters / MBA Preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of senior management experience in a professional services environment, 5 years of law firm experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Proven experience with the implementation and adoption of new technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively, delegate tasks, and achieve results.
  • In-depth understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex data, identify problems, and develop effective solutions.
