Head of Procurement

Location: Onsite in Atlanta OR New York


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Procurement to lead our procurement team in optimizing our supply chain and driving cost efficiencies. This role is critical in ensuring that our client continues to deliver world-class technology solutions to our clients in the banking sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in procurement, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the technology industry.


Role Overview

The company is consolidating multiple procurement functions into a centralized in-house team. Currently, procurement is outsourced, and the company is transitioning away from multiple product instances. This is a greenfield opportunity to design and implement procurement processes, manage vendor relationships, and drive cost efficiencies across a ~$200M+ spend portfolio. The role requires a hands-on leader who can both strategize and execute, working closely with senior leadership and stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Build & Lead Procurement Function: Establish and develop the in-house procurement organization, consolidating four separate groups into one.
  • Vendor Management & Negotiation: Oversee and negotiate contracts across key spend areas, including contract labor, IT, and facilities.
  • Process Development: Define and implement procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate directly with senior leadership and stakeholder, ensuring alignment on procurement strategies.
  • Governance & Compliance: Conduct weekly vendor approval meetings with senior leadership.
  • Operational Execution: Take a hands-on approach in managing procurement activities, ensuring smooth execution rather than just setting up systems for others.


Team Structure & Growth

  • Initially, a small, high-impact team (Head of Procurement + 1 key additional hire + potential admin support).
  • Will not expand into a large (20+ person) organization.
  • Will collaborate with existing team members for vendor management support.


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 10+ years of procurement experience in enterprise-level organizations.
  • Proven ability to build procurement programs from scratch.
  • Senior Manager or Director level experience.
  • Strong negotiation, vendor management, and process development skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Hands-on, execution-focused leader comfortable in a lean, dynamic environment.
