Location: Austin, TX

Job type: Contract to Hire


Summary:

Our direct client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented 3D Design Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on designing and assembling 3D components for cutting-edge projects, including server rack systems, liquid cooling infrastructure, and power distribution systems. The position offers the opportunity to develop scalable designs that support innovative data hall-level projects. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in CAD software (CATIA 3D Experience and SolidWorks) and possess a strong technical background in manufacturability and system integration.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize **CATIA 3D Experience** and **SolidWorks** to design parts, assemblies, and mechanisms optimized for manufacturability and assembly.
  • Integrate and fit 3D components with precision, focusing on server rack systems and ensuring seamless alignment.
  • Develop detailed models for liquid cooling systems, including: Coolant distribution manifolds (CDM); Tubing & Connections.
  • Design and optimize power distribution components such as: Power shelves & Busbars.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet technical requirements and project goals.
  • Create detailed documentation, including technical drawings, assembly guides, and specifications.
  • (Preferred) Perform 3D simulations for design analysis and validation.


Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in **CATIA 3D Experience** and **SolidWorks**.
  • Extensive experience in fitting and assembling complex 3D components.
  • Foundational knowledge of liquid cooling systems (CDM, tubing, connections).
  • Familiarity with power distribution systems (power shelves, busbars).
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems (AC/DC).
  • (Preferred) Knowledge of Open Compute Project (OCP) standards.
  • (Preferred) Experience with 3D simulation tools for design validation.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to optimize designs for manufacturability.
