Job Description

Our Client, a Multinational Energy Company , is looking for a Procurement Specialist/ Project Assistant to join their team in El Passo,TX!



Pay: $40/hour


***This is a 3 Month Long Contract That Will Be Extend To 12 Months!***



As the Procurement Specialist/ Project Assistant you will be the boots on the ground working with a Project Manager on ‘change of supplier’ projects focused on components used to make their electrical distribution projects. You will oversee the buyer/ procurement process following up with members of the plant and local suppliers for activities derived from the scope of the Project Manager.


Responsibilities

  • Propose cost reduction projects/ ideas (Quality value add & Change of supplier) within his/her perimeter in consistency with the Purchasing strategy goals.
  • Contribute to the correct financial analytics maintenance via the regular and constant update of financial tools.
  • Support the procurement strategy for supplier consultation & selection.
  • Support and/or lead all the activities related the supply qualification system in plant according with the responsibility matrix defined.


Sourcing/Procurement:

  • iSAVE management/maintenance
  • Initiate and manage Request for Quote through SSP-SRM
  • Coordinate 3F's, Build Up and Samples as related to Project execution ERP update 'Workflows/One Shuttle:
  • Update SL, Leadtime's, MoQ, New Part Creation. ERP update 'Workflows/One Shuttle:
  • Update PIR and Vendor change.
  • PO Placement coordination (tools, samples and production)
  • Optimize logistics/packaging conditions and requirements according to plant/project needs


Project management:

  • Coordinate activities related to project needs & procurement activities. Oversee risk analysis to align procurement with project targets.
  • Drive prioritization activities considering plant/project needs.
  • Resolve supplier/plants/cross functional groups conflicts.
  • Coordinate part qualification activities.
  • Collect productivity improvement ideas from the support functions.


Required Skills & Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering and/or Supply Chain or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, purchasing or Project Management.
  • Spanish language proficiency is preferred but not a must
  • Familiarity with SAP, along with knowledge of engineering/manufacturing processes.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles, including supplier management, cost analysis, and inventory management.
  • Experience with commodities like stampings, sheet metal fabrication, plastics, or electronics.
  • Excel and database management
