Our Client, a Multinational Energy Company , is looking for a Procurement Specialist/ Project Assistant to join their team in El Passo,TX!
Pay: $40/hour
***This is a 3 Month Long Contract That Will Be Extend To 12 Months!***
As the Procurement Specialist/ Project Assistant you will be the boots on the ground working with a Project Manager on ‘change of supplier’ projects focused on components used to make their electrical distribution projects. You will oversee the buyer/ procurement process following up with members of the plant and local suppliers for activities derived from the scope of the Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Propose cost reduction projects/ ideas (Quality value add & Change of supplier) within his/her perimeter in consistency with the Purchasing strategy goals.
- Contribute to the correct financial analytics maintenance via the regular and constant update of financial tools.
- Support the procurement strategy for supplier consultation & selection.
- Support and/or lead all the activities related the supply qualification system in plant according with the responsibility matrix defined.
Sourcing/Procurement:
- iSAVE management/maintenance
- Initiate and manage Request for Quote through SSP-SRM
- Coordinate 3F's, Build Up and Samples as related to Project execution ERP update 'Workflows/One Shuttle:
- Update SL, Leadtime's, MoQ, New Part Creation. ERP update 'Workflows/One Shuttle:
- Update PIR and Vendor change.
- PO Placement coordination (tools, samples and production)
- Optimize logistics/packaging conditions and requirements according to plant/project needs
Project management:
- Coordinate activities related to project needs & procurement activities. Oversee risk analysis to align procurement with project targets.
- Drive prioritization activities considering plant/project needs.
- Resolve supplier/plants/cross functional groups conflicts.
- Coordinate part qualification activities.
- Collect productivity improvement ideas from the support functions.
Required Skills & Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering and/or Supply Chain or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, purchasing or Project Management.
- Spanish language proficiency is preferred but not a must
- Familiarity with SAP, along with knowledge of engineering/manufacturing processes.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles, including supplier management, cost analysis, and inventory management.
- Experience with commodities like stampings, sheet metal fabrication, plastics, or electronics.
- Excel and database management
