Position Overview:
As a Senior Scientist in Protein Engineering, you will lead research efforts to design, develop, and optimize protein-based therapeutics and technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive key projects from discovery through preclinical development. Your expertise will be crucial in enhancing our capabilities to engineer proteins for a wide range of applications, including antibody and enzyme engineering, biologics, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and design experimental strategies for the engineering, optimization, and characterization of proteins for therapeutic and biotechnological applications.
- Develop and apply innovative protein engineering techniques such as directed evolution, molecular modeling, and high-throughput screening.
- Manage and mentor junior scientists, fostering a collaborative and creative research environment.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to translate findings into actionable strategies for drug discovery and development.
- Analyze data and present research findings to internal teams and external stakeholders, contributing to scientific publications and patents.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in protein engineering and biotechnology, and drive innovation within the team.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Protein Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of industry experience.
- Expertise in protein expression, purification, and characterization techniques.
- Strong background in protein engineering methodologies (e.g., directed evolution, site-directed mutagenesis, computational modeling).
- Experience with antibody or enzyme engineering is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex scientific concepts clearly.
