The Sourcing Specialist position will play a crucial part in developing and executing sourcing strategies for raw materials used in our manufacturing processes. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including production, engineering, and quality control, to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of high-quality materials that meet stringent specifications and environmental standards. This is an entry level position.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities, including price, quality, delivery, and sustainability practices.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and resolving any supply chain issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to define and implement sourcing strategies that align with business objectives, including cost reduction initiatives, risk mitigation, and sustainability goals.
  • Monitor market trends, identify potential disruptions, and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of new suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, compliance, and sustainability standards.
  • Support the implementation of procurement processes and systems, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate sourcing activities and performance to stakeholders.
  • Continuously develop your knowledge of procurement best practices, industry trends, and relevant regulations.


Requirements & Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related field (preferred, but not required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and MRP systems (SAP experience preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in related tools (intermediate to advanced Excel skills, experience building PowerBI dashboards is a plus).
  • Strong interest in sustainability and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Direct materials sourcing experience (preferably plastic resins, paper, aluminum) (preferred).
  • Procurement certifications or advanced training (i.e. CSP, CSMP, ISM, negotiations training, etc.) (preferred).
  • Certified in process improvement or lean/six sigma principles (i.e. yellow or green belt certification) (preferred).
  • Willing to travel at least 5-10% for business purpose.
