Job Title: AICP Certified Planner
Overview:
Seeking an experienced AICP Certified Planner to guide planning and land-use management within large-scale infrastructure and development projects. This role involves close collaboration with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure that zoning regulations, site analyses, and planning policies align with both technical and community objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage planning aspects of projects, including land use analysis, zoning, permitting, and environmental considerations.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to embed planning strategies into design and construction efforts.
- Advise on regulations and codes affecting project outcomes.
- Prepare, review, and present comprehensive planning documents (e.g., master plans, zoning analyses, feasibility studies).
- Conduct site assessments to ensure compliance with relevant planning requirements.
- Participate in public meetings and stakeholder consultations to represent project planning perspectives.
- Develop reports and presentations explaining planning strategies and decisions.
- Oversee land-use, zoning, and permitting applications for alignment with codes and standards.
- Coordinate project timelines and deliverables to seamlessly integrate planning activities.
- Stay current on emerging trends, policies, and technologies in urban planning.
Qualifications
- AICP certification (active license) required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Urban Planning, Geography, Architecture, or related field.
- Minimum of (X) years of experience in urban planning, focusing on land use, zoning, or infrastructure.
- Proven ability to work with engineering teams on large-scale development or infrastructure projects.
- In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal planning laws and policies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clarify complex planning concepts.
- Proficiency with relevant planning tools (GIS, AutoCAD, ArcMap, Adobe Creative Suite) and Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Collaborative mindset with the capacity to engage technical experts, public officials, and community groups effectively.
