This company is looking for an enthusiastic, organized, hyper-detailed, energetic Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of daily production and lead a team of 8+ people. This person will work closely with the Head of Operations and report directly to the Owner. The ideal candidate should have experience working in a fast-paced environment, be able to think critically on their feet, use superior judgment and decision-making skills, and possess the flexibility, professionalism and organization to handle anything that comes their way!
Responsibilities include:
- Manage a clean and high-standard facility ready for a DOA, FDA, or SQF inspection at any time
- Direct, delegate and lead a team of 8+ production staff, including training
- Oversee all production, prep, packing of product in a timely manner
- Manage shipments daily, including managing a high-volume monthly subscription shipment
- Schedule all pick-ups, drop-offs, etc
- Maintain wholesale site inventory and relevant SKUs
- Plan and meet daily production goals, while tracking efficiency and identifying areas of improvement
- Procure/order and maintain inventory of ingredients, production supplies, and dry and perishable goods
- Maintain accurate inventory and weekly reporting
- Report on large-scale projects in timely matter with accurate budget, timeline, and metrics to evaluate efficiency
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Work closely with customer service and account management team members to communicate project status and timelines; recap projects on continuous basis
- Set goals for year and deliver on all milestones, update and review as needed
- Able to comfortably use systems such as: Shopify, ShipStation, Google Drive suite, and more for order fulfillment, labeling, ordering, emailing, and other
Desired Requirements:
- Hyperorganized and extremely detail-oriented
- Natural leader among a group of production assistants
- Excellent communication skills, via email, phone, and text
- Proficient with Google Docs, Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Shopify, ShipStation, and other programs and dashboards
- Capable of managing projects independently and on-time
- Candidate must be willing and able to do physical labor, as this position entails working on your feet, and lifting and moving heavy objects (40+ lbs)
-Access to a car and valid drivers license
Experience: 5+ years Food, Manufacturing or Kitchen experience including Team Management.
Experience with NYS Health Inspections necessary. Experience with SQF a strong advantage.
Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
Certificates: Food Handlers Certificate, optional HACCP certified, valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Schedule: Flexibility to work as business dictates including weekends and nights
Salary: This is a full-time position, paid twice monthly. Salary is commensurate with experience.
