A global freight forwarding company is urgently looking for a motivated candidate who is interested in international logistics coordinating at their Chicago branch near the O'Hare International Airport. The ideal candidate will have 1) intermediate proficiency of MS Office suite (MS Excel, Word, and Outlook), 2) excellent interpersonal communication skills and 3) be able to enjoy customer support. This position is a full-time, temporary (3 mon+), ON-SITE work with benefit package.
Responsibilities - Jr. Level Logistics Specialist:
- Plan and manage the transport of all cargos
- Prepare and process all required documents
- Support the operations department personnel in various roles and responsibilities regarding global logistics strategies
- Track incoming/outgoing Air and Ocean Cargos (domestic/international shipments)
- Analyze transport costs and prepare quotes for invoicing
- Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports, and customer issues
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications - Jr. Level Logistics Specialist:
- Must be proficient in MS Excel with excellent Data Entry skills and Outlook for e-mail communications
- High School Diploma. Prefers degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, and other related field
- Good at working with numbers and detail oriented
- Organized, multi-tasks, and goal-oriented
- Knowledge of logistic procedures and optimization
- Previous work experience in Freight Forwarding industry is plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
