Technical Writer

Location: Remote - must work in PST

Duration : 6 months

Pay: Up to $81.55/hour; DOE (W2)

Planet Interactive is looking for a Technical Writer to join our well known Fortune 500 client on a 6 month contract. This role will work 40 hours per week and is onsite in Cupertino.

The technical writer will work in a cross-functional team on a hardware industry standard speciation. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a public-facing document and collaborate with engineers in a global technology company.

Responsibilities:

• Edit and re-write existing standards documents for brevity and clarity
• Attend regular meetings with SMEs
• Initiate and conduct document reviews for accuracy and adherence to style guides
• Manage deliverables and deadlines

Qualifications:

• BS/MS with at least 10 years of work experience
• Proficiency with English grammar and punctuation
• Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and self-driven
• Ability to work with tight deadlines and to manage workload efficiently
• Extensive experience with MSWord and applying Industry style guides
• Experience writing for public standards and regulatory bodies
• Design experience with hardware interfaces
