Job Description

Role:

The Senior Development Manager will lead the development of a robust pipeline of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in the East or the West. The Senior Development Manager will develop and execute the strategy for solar and BESS projects. The position is an integral member of a fast-paced, dynamic development team and will be responsible for developing exceptional utility-scale projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Led end-to-end solar and energy storage project development across multiple U.S. regions.
  • Oversee project milestones, timelines, and budgets to ensure projects meet company goals and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (legal, finance, engineering, construction) to drive successful project execution at all development stages.
  • Negotiate land agreements and manage stakeholder relationships, including landowners, community leaders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and regulatory changes to optimize project siting and strategy.
  • Oversee permitting and environmental review processes, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on market positioning, new development opportunities, and risk management.
  • Manage and mentor development teams, fostering their growth and maximizing their contributions to the organization.


Requirements

  • Proven experience in utility-scale project development.
  • Familiarity with interconnection procedures and renewable project financing.
  • Skilled in coordinating cross-functional teams, including engineering, environmental, and regulatory experts.
  • Strong financial and strategic business insight, with experience presenting to executive leadership.
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • In-depth knowledge of renewable energy technologies, wholesale markets, interconnection processes, and applicable tax incentives.
