We are an Atlanta design-build firm that is expanding. We like to say, “we do cool projects for cool people”. Our projects are larger in scale and typically take months to a year to produce. The Director of Business Operations will be responsible for the direction of multiple operational departments of The Copper Sky Design + Remodel Company, including Finance, HR, and Office Administration. They will provide day-to-day leadership and management for these functional areas. They will also serve as a member of the Leadership Team and will provide input on strategic initiatives of the Company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
In addition to overseeing departmental responsibilities, the Director of Business Operations will be an integral part of the Leadership Team, championing company culture and upholding core values. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leadership
· Provide leadership, management, and accountability (LMA) for all Business Operations department personnel
· Own and manage all departmental workflows
· Participate in Leadership Team functions, contributing to strategic direction and long-term planning of the company
Financial
· Develop, implement, and maintain the company budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals and projections for revenue, cash flow, and profitability
· Lead the creation and ongoing refinement of financial strategies, ensuring the company’s long-term financial health and sustainability
· Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
· Guide the development and execution of financial systems and processes, including special projects
· Supervise the management of financial data, ensuring accurate organization, tracking, and reporting of all financial information
· Provide high-level oversight of company financial operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), tax filings, insurance renewals, and monthly reconciliation
· Partner with external stakeholders such as accountants, auditors, and financial consultants to ensure compliance and optimize financial performance
· Monitor cash flow and credit management, making strategic decisions to optimize liquidity and resource allocation
· Support financial decision-making at the Leadership Team level, providing strategic insights and data-driven recommendations
HR
· Provide high-level oversight of the recruiting, onboarding, and orientation processes to ensure they align with company culture and hiring needs
· Manage the strategic direction of the company’s compensation and benefits programs, including salary structure, bonuses, commissions, and comprehensive benefits offerings
· Oversee the design and implementation of company policies related to HR, including employee performance reviews, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws
· Guide the development of a robust company culture through strategic planning, team-building initiatives, and professional development opportunities
· Ensure the company’s HR practices align with overall business goals, supporting employee engagement and retention at a strategic level
· Work closely with HR managers to assess and improve employee performance management systems, policies, and processes
Administration
· Oversee high-level administrative functions, including managing relationships with external consultants and service providers (IT, legal, financial, etc.)
· Provide strategic guidance on the administration of company-wide events, including quarterly SOCs and annual client and team gatherings
· Lead the development and execution of processes related to licensing, compliance, and regulatory requirements, ensuring company operations align with local, state, and federal standards
· Ensure the company’s operational infrastructure is optimized to support its strategic goals, identifying areas for improvement and efficiency
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required
· Strong knowledge of business, finance, and management principles
· Working knowledge of human resource principles and practices
· Expertise in QuickBooks or equivalent software
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office
· Creative thinker with the ability to ideate and implement new strategies and processes
· Excellent interpersonal communication skills
· Well-organized and able to approach challenges with a calm, logical mindset
· Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented structure with minimal supervision
· Strong problem-solving skills, able to anticipate and resolve issues efficiently
Preferred
· 3-5 years of experience leading a team
· General knowledge of the remodeling industry and residential design
