Responsibilities:
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) ensures the quality and compliance of materials and components supplied to an aerospace and defense organization. This role manages supplier quality performance, conducts audits, leads Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA), and drives continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with AS9100 standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Quality Management: Assess, audit, and monitor supplier compliance with AS9100 and regulatory standards.
- RCCA & Issue Resolution: Investigate supplier defects, implement corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution.
- Supplier Development: Collaborate on quality improvements, provide training, and implement lean principles.
- Quality Assurance: Review supplier documentation, conduct inspections, and oversee First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Risk Management: Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Continuous Improvement: Apply Six Sigma, lean, and statistical methods to enhance supplier performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineering, procurement, and production teams to align quality expectations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, or quality assurance in aerospace/defense.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100, RCCA methodologies, and quality management systems (QMS).
- Proficiency in supplier audits, SPC, and process improvement techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to travel to supplier sites as needed.
