Estimator – Environmental Remediation Focus

Are you an experienced estimator with a passion for environmental remediation? An industry-leading contractor is seeking an Estimator to join their growing team. This role offers the chance to work on impactful remediation projects, collaborate with a talented group of professionals, and advance your career in a thriving, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • RFPs and Conduct Site Walks: Review project requests, attend bid walks, and communicate with clients on planned remediation initiatives.
  • Prepare Precise Estimates: Perform quantity take-offs, collaborate with subcontractors, and analyze alternative construction methods to enhance bid competitiveness.
  • Draft Formal Proposals: Craft clear and concise proposals that include accurate budgets and feasible schedules using estimating software (experience with B2W or similar is a plus).
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Engage with internal teams to evaluate risks and opportunities and effectively communicate project details to field operations.
  • Build Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships to expand bid opportunities, negotiate with vendors, and explore innovative solutions.
  • Support Larger Projects: Work independently on small and mid-sized projects while assisting senior estimators and project leads on more complex opportunities.

What We’re Looking For

  • Environmental Remediation Expertise: 4–8 years of experience in construction estimating or project management within the environmental remediation sector.
  • Technical Background: A bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, geology, or a related field is encouraged (or equivalent experience).
  • HAZWOPER 40-Hour Certification (Preferred): Demonstrates strong commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to break down construction activities, recognize discrepancies, and troubleshoot complex project challenges.
  • Tech-Savviness: Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project) and familiarity with computer-aided estimating software.
  • Excellent Communication: Effective in oral and written formats, with demonstrated interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to Travel: Must be open to traveling throughout California for bid walks and occasional out-of-state travel.
