Full-Time Communications Manager

Salt Lake City, UT

  • Full-time, Onsite
  • Salary: $72-$75K (plus excellent benefits including 15% of salary to retirement after one year and immediate vesting)


SUMMARY:

  • A Utah non-profit member organization whose main purpose is representation, advocacy, networking, and providing services for members


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute communications strategies across both internal and external channels which include metrics to measure success of communications
  • Ensure consistent messaging that aligns with the Association’s goals and values
  • Manage Media relations (in conjunction with CEO)
  1. Craft press releases as needed (few occasions)
  2. Identify key audiences with Association and tailor messaging accordingly
  • Must know how to business post for industry and, including reposting on social media
  1. In charge of Association’s social media and responsible for optimizing company’s social media goals and visibility
  2. Work with Director of Marketing on social media
  • Must be able to create messages that inform, educate, or persuade members about services and benefits
  • Experience with creating branding and using branding in communications
  1. Design, develop and distribute consistent themes, messaging, and branding throughout all communication touch points
  • Must explore and adopt new channels and technology to meet potential members and optimize association communications
  • Manage (along with publisher) Association’s magazine – gather content, edit content and work with publisher
  • Bi-weekly newsletter to members
  • Able to create professional business communications documents
  • Keep website updated along with Marketing Director
  • Help run Association continuing education program – help plan educational events and programs, work with vendors and other organizations on joint education


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional communications skills – writing, speaking and active listening
  • In-depth knowledge of best writing and messaging practices for business
  • Good data analysis, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • At least 3-5 years-experience in communications, public relations, marketing, advertising
  • Prefer experience in a health care industry
  • Proficient in all social media platforms. Experience using social media to target marketing messages
  • Strong project management skills
  • Prefer previous education design/development experience
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications preferred
  • Expert in Microsoft Office products – particularly Word, Excel, Adobe
  • Experience in website design and/or website maintenance
