Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience in general commercial litigation and Chapter 7/11 bankruptcy to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent analytical and communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to handle complex legal matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and litigate a variety of general commercial litigation and bankruptcy cases
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy, legal research, and drafting of pleadings and motions
- Conduct depositions, attend hearings, and represent clients in court as needed
- Engage with clients to provide strategic advice and guidance on litigation and bankruptcy matters
- Assist in developing and expanding the firm’s client base through networking and business development initiatives (a plus)
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the New York State Bar is required; admission in New Jersey or Connecticut is a plus
- 2-5 years of substantive experience in general commercial litigation and Chapter 7/11 bankruptcy
- Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to work independently in a mostly remote setting while maintaining a collaborative approach
- Demonstrated ability to develop business is a strong advantage
