Schedule:

Wednesday – Saturday, 12:30pm to 9:00pm

Responsibilities:

• Assist histology with specimen processing in the clinical laboratory.
• Responsible for specimen reconciling, sample return, sample capture, and ensuring quality throughout the pre-analytical processes (multiple workflows used with various turnaround times).
• Identify specimen processing problems that may affect the reporting of test results and immediately notify the supervisor.
• Maintain supply inventory logs- materials and laboratory supplies.
• Complete other related administrative duties, including copying, filing, data entry, faxing, and quality control of spreadsheets.
• Assist in the training, and implementation of departmental standard operation procedures.
• Assist in research and validation activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in histology in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Experience with various laboratory information systems (LIS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint).
