Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Manager to support the Resources and Management (RM) Directorate at Allied Command Transformation (ACT). As a Risk Manager, you will lead efforts in developing, implementing, and managing risk methodologies, processes, and tools to enhance organizational performance and resilience. This role requires expertise in aligning risk management strategies with recognized industry standards and fostering collaboration across NATO Military Authorities and Agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and technical lead for Risk Management within ACT.
- Develop and implement Risk Management methodologies and procedures in alignment with recognized industry best practices.
- Design and deliver Risk Management processes and training for HQ ACT, subordinate commands, and outlying stations.
- Facilitate information exchange with NATO Military Authorities and Agencies to align Risk Management methodologies and tools across NATO.
- Provide expert Risk Management advice and support to the ACT Executive Boards.
- Conduct internal Risk Management health checks, maturity assessments, and improvement initiatives, including support for the Command Auditor.
- Enhance and maintain the ACT Information Management System, including Risk and Issue Registers, to ensure consistent application of Risk Management processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, organizational development efforts, and performance analysis to optimize internal management coherence.
- Assist the Strategy Management Branch Head with Risk Management tasks and broader branch objectives.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Citizenship of a NATO member country.
- Active Secret Security Clearance .
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field from an accredited institution.
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in Risk Management within the last 10 years in a complex and dynamic environment.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing Risk Management methodologies and procedures aligned with industry best practices.
- Experience working in a National or NATO strategic operational command (minimum 4 years preferred).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Preferred:
- Experience in Lean process improvement .
- Advanced qualifications in Risk Management.
- Experience in operational resilience and business continuity management .
- Familiarity with portfolio, program, and project (P3) management processes.
